Executive Biography

The official biography

Roosevelt Forestal is a Haitian computer engineer, entrepreneur and innovation leader, and the Founder & CEO of GOVIBE Innovation Hub — an ecosystem of ventures spanning artificial intelligence, software development, SaaS platforms, education and startup incubation.

Where most saw a market defined by its constraints, Roosevelt saw an engineering problem — and engineers solve problems. He has since built and shipped commercial technology products — including Tchekela.com, Klasyo.org, HOSPIFY and TAGTOA — trained professionals across NGOs, local organizations and universities, delivered a keynote at DevExpo, Haiti's flagship tech event, and mentored a rising generation of founders.

His work is guided by a single long-term mission: to build one of the largest innovation ecosystems in Haiti, then extend it across the Caribbean and into Africa — creating the infrastructure of opportunity that talent deserves.

My Story

The journey, unfiltered

Every ecosystem starts with one person who refuses to accept the default future.

The Beginning

An engineer forged by constraint

Growing up in Haiti means learning early that nothing is given — electricity, connectivity, opportunity. For Roosevelt, those constraints didn't breed resignation; they bred resourcefulness. He chose computer engineering because code was the one resource no one could ration.

The Struggle

Building where others wouldn't

The easy path was to leave. The chosen path was to stay and build — through unstable infrastructure, thin capital markets and an environment where every project costs twice the effort. Each obstacle became part of the method: build lean, build resilient, build for reality.

The Lesson

Companies aren't enough

One successful product changes a business. But it doesn't change a country. The insight that redefined everything: Haiti doesn't lack talent or ideas — it lacks the connective tissue between them. Training, infrastructure, capital, community. An ecosystem.

The Vision

GOVIBE is born

GOVIBE Innovation Hub was created as that connective tissue — an academy to train talent, a lab to build products, an incubator to launch founders, and consulting to fund the mission. Every venture reinforces the others. Every graduate strengthens the network.

The Future

Haiti → Caribbean → Africa

The model being proven in Port-au-Prince is designed to travel. The next decade's roadmap: replicate the ecosystem across Caribbean markets, then bring it to African cities facing the same equation — immense talent, insufficient infrastructure. The ambition is continental.

“I didn't want to escape the problem. I wanted to become the solution.
— Roosevelt Forestal
